When contacted, the FairPrice Group, which manages the Pasir Ris Hawker Centre, said it has noticed some recent developments in the surrounding area, including the relocated bus interchange and the sports and leisure centre which is under renovation. These developments have temporarily affected foot traffic and posed additional challenges to hawkers. To minimize the impact on hawker stalls on the second floor of hawker centers, FairPrice Group has implemented various measures, including proactively adjusting rents and offering rent rebates. To attract diners back, the group also regularly organizes events and provides free shuttle bus services to improve accessibility to hawker centers.
